Dwight Johnston serves as economic forecaster and market observer at corporate credit union WesCorp in San Dimas, California. He has emerged as a popular figure on the speaker's circuit throughout the credit union industry, and is best known for his daily and long-term commentaries featured on WesCorp's website where he discusses the U.S. economy.

Dwight's career spans more than 30 years in the investments industry. He held positions at major regional banks and brokerage firms before moving to WesCorp in 1998, when he was named managing principal for WesCorp Investment Services LLC, the broker/dealer subsidiary of WesCorp. He holds a degree in finance from the University of Texas at Austin, and currently resides in Claremont, California.

3/18/2008–Telly Awards Go To "OnDeck With Dwight Johnston"

(SAN DIMAS, CALIFORNIA)-- OnDeck with Dwight Johnston, a weekly podcast produced by Overland Studios and presented by WesCorp Federal Credit Union, has been selected as a bronze winner in two categories-nonprofit and education-during the 29th Annual Telly Awards. Officials at the corporate credit union received word of the recognition late yesterday afternoon.

The podcast, which features WesCorp's popular economic and market research analyst, Dwight Johnston, offers an eight to 10-minute summary of the past week's market and financial events along with a look at those that are scheduled to occur or "on deck" for the week to come. The series, launched in June 2007, is distributed weekly through iTunes and WesCorp's own Internet site, www.wescorp.org. It can also be accessed by telephone (360-526-6307) through PhoneCasting.com. The podcast serves as a compliment to Johnston's daily commentaries and quarterly and "Breaking News" webcasts.

Walt Laskos, WesCorp's director of Public Relations and producer of OnDeck with Dwight Johnston, pointed to Dwight's unique expertise as the reason for the accolade. "I believe Dwight is more of a market psychologist than a market analyst. He's in-tune with its mindset and emotions, and credit union audiences are thirsting for this level of expertise." Laskos continued, "The two Tellys clearly reflect the quality that our podcast brings to listeners each and every Monday morning."

The Telly Awards annually showcase the best work of the most respected advertising agencies, production companies, television stations, cable operators, and corporate video departments in the world. Ogilvy, Warner Bros., Lockheed Martin, PGA TOUR Productions, Miami Dolphins Ltd., and the Disneyland Resort are just a few of last year's 2007 Telly Award recipients.

This year, the awards attracted more than 14,000 entries from all 50 states plus five continents. While they do not compete against one another, entries are instead, evaluated against a high standard of excellence. Each entry is judged on a 10-point scale. Those receiving 9.0 or higher are awarded the "Silver Telly" statuette; 7.0 to 8.9 merits the Bronze Telly statuette for outstanding achievement. Approximately seven to 10 percent of all entries are selected as silver recipients while bronze winners represent 18 to 25 percent. The Telly statuettes are designed and manufactured by the same company supplying the Oscar® and Emmy® awards.
